Generosity Series

A recent study on generosity showed that people who were generous were for the most part happy. Happiness comes by giving money and time away. Want happiness, stop being cheap. Are you a generous person? 2 Cor 8:7 tells us to excel in this grace of giving. Generosity is a discipleship issue. The Macedonian church was known as a church that is generous. Even in the midst of a very severe trial, their overwhelming joy and their extreme poverty welled up in rich generosity. They gave themselves first of all to the Lord, and then also to others. God wants to give us the gift of generosity. They excelled in the grace of giving. Generosity removes selfishness and self-centeredness. Generosity is a product of joy, not a product of our resources. They connected relationally. Make me a blessing to others in spite of my conditions. Generosity is the ink you use to make your budget. It is a priviledge, not an obligation. Is my heart right? Start today.
